Swego is the result of a dynamic partnership between Guylaine Niquet and Marcel Mérette, both passionate by the outdoor and the environment. Thus, these two entrepreneurs constantly looking for alternative mode of transportation joined their effort in order to develop and commercialize a new type of ergonomic, ecologic and innovative bicycle.
As a matter of fact, the dream of a new type of bicycle was already brewing in Mr. Mérette’s mind for a little while. Indeed, Mr. Mérette has been working on the conception of a low-riding, articulated, front-wheel-drive tricycle for several years already. After several attempts, he succeeded in an innovative and unique design. The prototypes were designed and tested during the summer of 2008 and then first introduced to the consumers under the name of Tripodcycle. The team then noticed a good potential for this type of product and therefore, decided to market their new type of bicycle as soon as the summer 2009.

Between 2009 and 2011, fueled by the early adopters’ support and enthusiasm, Guylaine and Marcel refined the design and the image of their new type of bicycle in order to develop the Swego.
